Following lawsuits from the Prosecutor General's Office, former Chairman of the Prikubansky District Court of Krasnodar, Rustem Trakhov, and Vladimir Bakhmetyev, who headed the Khostinsky and then Central District Courts of Sochi, were stripped of their status as retired judges. Consequently, they have also been stripped of the immunity granted by their status as judges.

The shootout in which security forces killed a Stavropol resident was preceded by the murder of a Kislovodsk resident, a suspect in a case involving the preparation of a terrorist attack in Stavropol. According to the FSB, the man was plotting a terrorist attack on orders from the Ukrainian side and offered armed resistance during an arrest attempt.

The FSB reported that it had foiled a terrorist attack on the building of the "Defenders of the Fatherland" foundation branch in Stavropol. The man who was preparing the explosion on orders from Ukrainian intelligence agencies was killed in the shootout.
