The accused's apology in the terrorist case was published in the official newspaper of Kabardino-Balkaria.

Nalcian Eldar Aloev, arrested on charges of preparing a terrorist act, appealed to the human rights commissioner in Kabardino-Balkaria, after which the official publication published on his behalf "a statement of public apology and remorse."

The 25-year-old native of Nalchik, Eldar Aloev, is in a pre-trial detention center on charges of preparing a terrorist act and involvement in a terrorist organization. He is also accused of training for terrorist activities and attempting to manufacture an explosive device.

The newspaper "Kabardino-Balkarian Truth," established by the parliament and government of the republic, published on behalf of Aloev "a statement of public apology and remorse," noted "Gazeta Yuga."

According to the publication, which appeared on the 11th page of the "Kabardino-Balkarian Truth" issue dated September 26, Aloev appealed to the human rights commissioner in Kabardino-Balkaria "for help in conveying to the residents of the republic and the country a statement of his sincere remorse and public apology."

The statement on behalf of Aloev, whose case is being investigated by the FSB, is written in formal language. The young man claims that between March 2 and May 27, 2026, he participated in the activities of a certain terrorist organization, trained for terrorist activities, prepared an explosive device, and planned a terrorist act. He does not specify what actions he took, nor does he name the organization.

"I fully realize the illegal, destructive, and socially dangerous nature of my actions. My statements/actions were fundamentally wrong, thoughtless, and unacceptable. I unconditionally condemn any manifestations of terrorism, extremism, and violence. I deeply regret that my actions could harm public safety, offend someone's feelings, or mislead people," the statement from Aloev says.

The accused claims that he has fully admitted his guilt and is actively cooperating with the investigation. "I commit to never again engage in such illegal actions, to strictly comply with the laws of the Russian Federation, and to respect the values of society. I sincerely apologize to the citizens of the Russian Federation, society, and the state," the publication states.

The statement on behalf of Aloev is preceded by a note from the editor-in-chief of "Kabardino-Balkarian Truth," Raneta Bzhakova, titled "The Path to Nowhere" and reflections on the psychological vulnerability of young people to recruiters. She does not provide any details about Aloev's case. "What led Eldar to the ranks of a terrorist organization, and then to remorse, is hard to say. We do not know the details of his life either before, after, or now," the publication claims.

Eldar Aloev's data, marked for involvement in terrorism, was entered into the register of extremists and terrorists of Rosfinmonitoring on June 2, 2026, indicates a Telegram bot tracking updates in the list. "Caucasian Knot" currently has no comments from Aloev's relatives or his lawyers.
