Residents of North Ossetia considered the authorities' efforts to reduce fuel prices insufficient.

In North Ossetia, at least eight gas stations have joined an agreement with the authorities to lower fuel prices. Residents of the republic, commenting on the report from the Ministry of Housing and Utilities, Fuel and Energy of North Ossetia on social media, found the fuel prices not low enough.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the FAS of North Ossetia reported that five cases of illegal price gouging on fuel were identified. Residents of the republic, commenting on the agency's report on social media, considered the number of identified cases too small and pointed to the high cost of fuel at gas stations.

A meeting was held at the Ministry of Housing and Utilities, Fuel and Energy of North Ossetia, dedicated to pricing issues and the current situation in the oil products market, reports the publication E-Osetia.

As a result of the meeting, an agreement was reached to lower fuel prices. Six gas station networks - "Troya", "Gefest", "Intergaz", "Interoil", "Bars", and "Vikoyl" - agreed to set the following prices: AI-92 gasoline - 97 rubles per liter, propane gas - 39 rubles per liter.

Today, the gas stations "NK Neft" and "Iosif" also joined the agreements to reduce propane gas prices from 43 to 39 rubles, informs the Ministry of Housing and Utilities, Fuel and Energy of North Ossetia on its Telegram channel.

The agency also reported that as of the current date, there are 2,191 tons of automotive gasoline and 969 tons of diesel fuel in oil storage facilities. In transit to the region are 2,365 tons of gasoline and 1,120 tons of diesel.

The Ministry urged citizens not to create panic demand, to refrain from waiting in lines for small amounts of fuel (5–10 liters), and to fill their vehicles' tanks to full as needed.

"In case of further deterioration of the situation and sustained high demand for fuel, the government of the republic will consider the introduction of additional restrictive measures, providing for the sale of oil products based on even and odd days according to the vehicle's state registration number," the ministry's press service said in a statement.

A post about joining the agreements to lower fuel prices in North Ossetia was published by the Instagram*-public region15.info, which has over 63 thousand followers. As of 00:30 MSK, the post received 75 likes and 32 comments.

Some users considered the price reduction conditional. "Isn't it an option to lower it to 70 rubles?" asked user kazikkaitmazov.

"Am I supposed to be happy that gasoline has gone up by 30 rubles?" asked irbek_cheldiev.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that earlier the head of North Ossetia, Sergey Menyaylo, ordered to send information about unjustified price increases for gasoline to law enforcement agencies if warnings from the regional FAS do not work on gas station owners. In response, local residents stated that regulatory authorities should monitor prices at gas stations themselves, without waiting for appeals from the population.
