As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 7, the 618th day of continuous protests, demonstrators in Tbilisi held a march dedicated to the 18th anniversary of the August war. Participants of the march carried placards with the names of killed Georgian servicemen.

The traditional Saturday protest march "Freedom to the prisoners of the regime" began at the "Avlabari" metro station and headed towards the government administration building. After that, the protesters went to the building of the Parliament of Georgia. This is the 34th weekly Saturday march, reports "Interpressnews".

David Koldar, a former prisoner arrested during a demonstration against the "Russian law" and who spent 2 years and 3 months in prison, joined the protest.

He was arrested in May 2024 on charges of damaging a police car. He was released on August 7.

“The guys (convicted for participating in protest actions - note from 'Caucasian Knot') are really suffering for no reason. I wish them a speedy release, I await this with all my heart,” the TV company "Pirveli" quoted him as saying.

Participants in the march on the 619th day of daily protests walked along the roadway, unfurling a large flag of Georgia, and they also held flags of Georgia, the EU, and Ukraine, according to a photo report by photographer Giorgi Mosiashvili (Mo Se) on Facebook*.

Protesters in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024.
