A pilot from the Rostov region was killed in the SVO zone.

Mikhail Avramenko from the Rostov Region was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have publicly named at least 856 soldiers from the Rostov Region killed there.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," by February 12, officials and security forces had named at least 855 soldiers from the Rostov Region killed in Ukraine.

Today, Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar announced the presentation of the Gold Star medal to the parents of the deceased officer, Mikhail Avramenko, on his Telegram channel.

Mikhail Avramenko comes from a family of military pilots. After high school, he graduated from flight school and almost immediately joined a combat unit of army aviation. Since 2023, he fought in a separate helicopter regiment. Last September, while on a mission in the Dnipropetrovsk region, the combat vehicle, commanded by Senior Lieutenant Avramenko, was seriously damaged and caught fire. He managed to land, but was unable to escape from the cockpit. Rostov resident Mikhail Avramenko was awarded the title Hero of Russia by decision of the Russian president, according to a statement from the governor.

Thus, at least 856 soldiers from the Rostov region have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of names of natives of the North Caucasus and Southern Federal Districts killed in the military operation.
