The body of serviceman Armen Kazaryan with a gunshot wound was found on the territory of the military unit in Syunik.

"Caucasian Knot" reported that the share of non-combat losses among Armenian military personnel, according to human rights defenders, has risen to 90%. They called on the Armenian authorities to pay more attention to the prevention of crimes and suicides in the army. At the end of September, a contractor died in the Syunik region; according to sources, a quarrel between soldiers preceded the incident.

According to the head of the village of Ranchpar in the Ararat region, Vaan Vardanyan, Kazaryan had only three months left until demobilization. A criminal case has been initiated regarding his death.

The increase in non-combat losses among servicemen has repeatedly raised questions for the Armenian authorities. The authorities and the ombudsman must address the issue of military deaths in peacetime, said the parents of the deceased soldiers back in November 2023. In February 2022, participants in a discussion in Yerevan noted that the rise in non-combat losses in military units indicates systemic problems in the Armenian army. At the same time, they stated that the authorities refuse to involve civil activists in solving the problem.
