Instagram users criticize Dagestani authorities for weak quarantine control

In Dagestan, Instagram users expressed their indignation about cases when self-isolation had been violated. Social network users left comments in which they criticized the authorities who, according to the users, have little control over compliance with the quarantine measures.

A video was posted on social networks in which doctors wearing special anti-infective suits were inspecting a multi-apartment building in Makhachkala. The Dagestani Ministry for Public Health explained that employees of the Dagestani branch of the "Rospotrebnadzor" (Russian Federal Agency for Consumer Supervision) examined tenants of the multi-apartment building. One of the tenants was a woman, who returned from the United Arab Emirates and whose test for the coronavirus infection was initially positive, the Instagram public account "Lifedagestan" reported on March 31.

In their comments, social network users express their indignation about the fact that some residents violate the self-isolation regime. According to the rules of self-isolation, upon arrival from abroad, people are to stay at home for 14 days to avoid the possible spread of the coronavirus infection. "What the hell they are allowed into Russia? You left for abroad, so stay there," wrote user kamila05_86.

Other users criticized the authorities. According to the Internet users, the administration has little control over the compliance with the quarantine regime. "How can it be so? And in general, why did the authorities let her into the city? They should have placed her to a separate box for quarantine immediately after she had left the plane," claimed user miss_korea_opt.

"There is no control at airports, train stations, etc. The government is poorly responsive to all that. We should take an example from our neighbour Ramzan Kadyrov," wrote user asiiat148.
