A resident of Makhachkala is accused of participating in a banned extremist organization.

The Prosecutor's Office of the Kirov District of Makhachkala has approved the indictment in the criminal case against a local resident. He is accused of participating in the activities of a banned public or religious organization.

According to the investigation, for more than four years - from March 2020 to October 2024 - the accused actively participated in the work of a structural unit of the organization, which was previously officially recognized by the court as extremist and banned in the territory of the Russian Federation.

The investigative authorities have gathered the necessary evidence. The materials of the criminal case with the approved indictment have been sent to the Kirov District Court of Makhachkala for consideration on the merits, the Prosecutor's Office of Dagestan reported today on its official website.

He is accused of participating in the activities of an organization that is recognized as extremist under Russian law. The article provides for a prison sentence of two to six years.

The supervisory authority does not name the accused, nor does it specify the name of the extremist organization.
