Two residents of the Volgograd region were detained for filming a video at the "Soldier's Field".

Fitness blogger Yegor Krupkin was detained in Volgograd along with another heroine of the video they filmed at the "Brotherly grave of the soldiers of the 62nd Army who died during the Battle of Stalingrad." They are suspected of desecrating a symbol of military glory in Russia.

The Gorodishchensky District Court of the Volgograd region has chosen a preventive measure for two local residents suspected of desecrating the memorial complex "Soldier's Field".

According to the investigation, while on the territory of the memorial complex "Brotherly grave of the soldiers of the 62nd Army who died during the Battle of Stalingrad," they filmed a video, which was later published on social media, writes "Height 102" on September 13.

One of the heroes of the video is fitness trainer and blogger Yegor Krupkin. He explained in the video how to stimulate lymph flow and maintain vascular health. Together with a girl in the video, they demonstrated physical exercises. Krupkin himself called filming the video against the backdrop of the memorial a "foolish act." The video was filmed in 2020.

The authors of the video were detained with the participation of employees of the Investigative Committee of Russia, the Center for Countering Extremism of the regional Main Directorate of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the FSB of Russia with the support of special forces. Searches were conducted at their homes. The court granted the investigation's request and imposed a ban on certain actions for the Volgograd residents.

The Investigative Directorate of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Volgograd region reported that the detainees are suspected of committing a crime under part 4 of Article 354.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (insulting the memory of defenders of the Fatherland, committed using mass media or information and telecommunications networks, including the Internet). The press release published on the agency's website states that the content of the video recording is regarded as desecration of a symbol of military glory in Russia and the memory of defenders of the Fatherland.

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that in July, Astrakhan blogger Svyatoslav Kovalenko published a video on his social media where he threw a five-thousand-ruble bill into the water at the sculpture "Stand to Death" on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd. He then stepped aside and filmed people's reactions to the bill in the water. Eventually, a man approached the pool, took off his shoes, and jumped in after the bill. The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, demanded a report on the progress of the investigation into the actions of Astrakhan blogger Svyatoslav Kovalenko, who filmed the video on Mamayev Kurgan, which caused criticism from some citizens. The blogger himself believes he did nothing provocative. Nevertheless, on August 21, Kovalenko and the man who jumped into the pool, who turned out to be blogger Andrey Yaroshenko, were arrested until October 5.
