Rosstat's report on the average salary has caused skepticism among the residents of Kabardino-Balkaria.

The average salary of employees in organizations amounted to 114,743 rubles, reported Rosstat. Residents of Kabardino-Balkaria, commenting on this report on social media, stated that their incomes are significantly lower than this amount and doubted that the figure reflects their real earnings.

Commentators, identifying themselves as residents of the republic, spoke about incomes significantly lower than the amount indicated by Rosstat. "Where are my 85 thousand that are missing?" – wrote the user german_aquarius.

"Wow, which Russia is this? My salary is 30,000. Did I miss something?" – sarcastically noted larianna_shukova_.

"60 thousand rubles," – noted the user ichebupelya.

Users also doubted that the average figure reflects the incomes of most residents. "Some have carrots, some have cabbage? I have potatoes. And together on average we have borscht. That's how it is," – wrote the user 00_maktub.

"Who earns a billion a month, so that the rest of the millions, earning 30-40 thousand, did not affect the statistics," – wrote the user adigihistori.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that significant income inequality among residents is periodically recorded in Kabardino-Balkaria. Thus, on November 18, 2024, the republic was at the bottom of the ranking for income inequality: more than 100 thousand rubles per month were earned by 3.1% of residents, while less than 30 thousand rubles – by 46.4%.
