The blogger apologized for insulting the Abkhaz people.

According to security officials, Roman Darsalia expressed his opinion during a live broadcast with a Ukrainian blogger, which the KGB regarded as an insult to the Abkhaz people. In the video, Darsalia apologized for his words.

The State Security Service of the Republic of Abkhazia recorded the fact of statements insulting the Abkhaz people being posted online. As a result of the monitoring conducted, citizen Roman Darsalia was detained.

According to the version of the security officials, during the live broadcast while communicating with the Ukrainian blogger, Darsalia made insulting statements. In particular, he voiced the version that during the Patriotic War of the Abkhaz people, the Abkhaz allegedly "committed genocide against the Georgians," reports Apsnypress, citing the KGB of Abkhazia.

Currently, necessary verification measures are being conducted regarding the detained individual. Darsalia has already apologized to the entire Abkhaz people for his words.

The publication also releases a video of the detainee's apology, in which Darsalia states that he "unintentionally hurt the feelings of the Abkhaz people, for which he expresses his deepest apologies."

"We all know that there was no genocide of the Georgian people, but on the contrary, there was genocide of the Abkhaz people. I said this to the Ukrainian blogger, but he edited it. I also expressed negative views about the Russian authorities and the Russian people, which I also deeply regret," Darsalia says in the video.

On September 28, 2025, a video titled "A Man from Abkhazia" was published on the YouTube channel of Ukrainian blogger Andrey Popik. During the conversation, Roman Darsalia confirmed the version that during the war, the Abkhaz committed genocide against the Georgians. Later in the conversation with the Ukrainian blogger, Darsalia speaks disparagingly about the citizens of Abkhazia, referring to them as "they," as he apparently does not position himself as a citizen of Abkhazia.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that Abkhaz blogger Daur Buava, who was found dead in his apartment at the end of August, continued to publicly defend his political views on social media, for which he was accused of treason in Abkhazia in 2022 and received threats.
