The court decided to consider Rauf Arashukov's claims against the "Black Dolphin" colony.

The Sol-Iletsk District Court of the Orenburg Region has scheduled a hearing for October 1, 2026, regarding the administrative claims of former senator Rauf Arashukov, who is serving a life sentence in the "Black Dolphin" colony. Arashukov is contesting his placement in the punishment isolation cell.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", former senator from Karachay-Cherkessia Rauf Arashukov, serving a life sentence in the "Black Dolphin", ended his hunger strike, which lasted 10 days. The hunger strike was declared by Arashukov after he was placed in the SHIZO.

Convicted Arashukov is appealing the decisions regarding his placement in the SHIZO, issued for various violations. The defendants are the Federal Penitentiary Service of Russia, the Federal Penitentiary Service for the Orenburg Region, IK-6, and the head of the colony, reports "Kommersant".

The reason for Rauf Arashukov's placement in the punishment isolation cell was his refusal to go to work. In his claims, the former senator asserts that his refusal to work was due to valid reasons - inappropriate conditions in the work cell, particularly excessively high air temperature, which worsened his health condition.

Arashukov is asking to recognize the decisions of the colony's management as illegal and to oblige the institution to eliminate the consequences of the penalties, the publication clarified.

In October 2024, it became known that former senator from Karachay-Cherkessia Rauf Arashukov was accused of transferring three million rubles to the staff of the "Black Dolphin" colony in the Orenburg region for creating favorable conditions for serving his sentence. On January 13, the court found Arashukov guilty of attempting to bribe a colony employee and ordered him to pay a fine of 120 million rubles. The court also sentenced the life-imprisoned former senator to an additional 10 years in prison.

Relatives of the life-imprisoned Rauf Arashukov received a refusal in the spring regarding their request to transfer him from the Orenburg region to a colony in Mordovia. The former senator's defense promised to appeal this decision. Arashukov also demanded 100,000 rubles in compensation from the colony for the non-issuance of food products, but the court at the end of April refused to satisfy this claim. It was revealed at the hearing that the goods that were not issued were absent from the store. On August 10, Arashukov sent a letter to the State Duma and the government of Russia proposing to increase the number of visits with children for those sentenced to life imprisonment.
