Four candidates for the presidency of South Ossetia have been registered by the CEC.

Murad Valiev and Kazbek Kodoev, along with Marat Kambolov and Zurab Kokoev, have been allowed to participate in the presidential elections. The Central Election Commission of South Ossetia announced that a total of 40,000 ballots will be printed.

A total of five candidates submitted documents - the leader of the "Iry Farn" party Khoch Chochiev, the leader of the "Unity" party Zurab Kokoev, the candidate from the initiative group of citizens Kazbek Kodoev, the nominee from the "Patriots of Alania" party Murad Valiev, and the acting head of the republic Marat Kambolov. The acting head of South Ossetia Marat Kambolov received the registration certificate, and on August 21, Zurab Kokoev was registered as a candidate.
