Pashinyan stated about the expansion of interaction with the USA

Armenia is interested in expanding and enhancing cooperation with the USA in various areas, including political ones, said Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at a meeting with American Congressman Abraham Hamade after discussing the implementation of the TRIPP project.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in July, the Armenian government approved a bill on the ratification of the agreement for the project "Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity" (TRIPP). The document was sent to the Constitutional Court for review, and if approved, it will be submitted for ratification to the Armenian parliament.

Nikol Pashinyan met today with U.S. House of Representatives member Abraham Hamade, the press service of the Armenian government reported today on its official website.

"Abraham Hamade thanked for the warm welcome and noted the importance of developing dialogue also in a parliamentary format. He touched upon establishing peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan and emphasized the personal role and consistency of Prime Minister Pashinyan in this matter," the press release states.

"Trump Route" (TRIPP): transport corridor through Armenia

Pashinyan emphasized the importance of consistent development of relations between Armenia and the USA and noted that recently they have been dynamic. He stressed that Armenia is interested in expanding ties with the USA in political, economic, and technological areas and enhancing interaction, including along the lines of the transport project "Trump Route".

In February, Pashinyan stated that Yerevan offers the Russian side to sell its concession on the republic's railways to any of the states friendly to both Moscow and Yerevan. Among the possible options, Pashinyan mentioned Kazakhstan, the UAE, and Qatar. In April, the Armenian Prime Minister stated that he would not discuss the transfer of the concession behind Russia's back, TASS reported.

At the end of July, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan allowed the possibility of appealing to the court regarding the operation of the concessionary RZD's South Caucasian Railway and stated that Armenia could demand an annual payment from Russia. In response, RZD stated its right to recover investments in case of changes to the concession with Armenia.

The new railway, which will be built in southern Armenia as part of the TRIPP project ("Trump Route for International Peace and Prosperity"), will not be taken onto the balance of the South Caucasian Railway. At the same time, the issue of Russia's participation in the project may be discussed with the consent of the parties, said a deputy from the "Civil Contract" faction, head of the parliamentary commission on foreign relations Sarkis Handanyan. "The existing railway tracks in the country are on the balance of the South Caucasian Railway. 43 kilometers of railway within the framework of the 'Trump Route' will belong to the TRIPP company," the head of the parliamentary commission stated on December 16, 2025.
