In Georgia, a minibus crashed at a high-altitude resort, killing four tourists from Belarus, and 16 others were injured. It turned out that the driver was working illegally; he has been arrested.

The Ozurgeti District Court of Georgia has arrested the driver of the tourist minibus after the fatal accident that occurred at the high-altitude resort of Gomis Mta.

The accident happened on August 12, four passengers - tourists from Belarus - were killed. Another 16 people were injured, including five children. The driver himself was also injured. He was escorted to the court session directly from the hospital, reported "News-Georgia" on August 15.

The investigation found that the accused did not have the category of driver's license required for transporting such a number of passengers. Additionally, it was established that he did not ensure safe operation of the vehicle, which caused the minibus to skid into a ravine and crash into a tree.

The driver has been charged under part 8 of article 276 of the Criminal Code of Georgia 1 .

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that at the beginning of last year, a Russian tourist, Viktor Solovyov, was killed in Georgia. He was shot, and his body was thrown into a river. Two residents of Svaneti, Revaz Pakeliani and Bejan Chkaduwa, were detained on suspicion of murder. In September of the same year, they were sentenced to 18 years.
