The authorities' report on the situation at gas stations has caused skepticism among the residents of Abkhazia.

The opening of small private gas stations has reduced the load on large networks, and queues at gas stations have become shorter, reported the Minister of Energy of Abkhazia, Batal Mushba. Local residents, commenting on his report on social media, pointed out the high prices at private gas stations and the lack of noticeable improvements in the queues.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 12, Abkhaz drivers complained about the shortage of gasoline and long queues at gas stations. Some drivers reported that the wait took three to four hours, while gas stations were only dispensing 20 liters of fuel.

The opening of small private gas stations has allowed large networks to ease their load, reported the Minister of Energy of Abkhazia Batal Mushba. At the same time, he acknowledged that queues at gas stations "are still encountered," Interfax reported on August 10.

A video with a statement from Batal Mushba was published by the Instagram*-public chp_abh, which has about 100,000 followers. As of 11:40 AM MSK on August 15, this post had received 120 likes and 74 comments.

Some users stated that long queues at gas stations persist. "I stood for 13 hours, from six in the evening to seven in the morning," reported dmitriirychkov.

Almost six hours had to be spent in line for 20 liters of fuel, said kon_healer. "I stood almost six hours yesterday to get 20 liters," he noted.

A long queue was also observed at the "Rosneft" gas station, indicated world_of_books_2025. According to her, cars were lined up in two rows, and some small gas stations were not operating. "I can't leave tomorrow, I have no gasoline at all... How am I supposed to take the kids to their classes?" she questioned.

"Instead of five hours, you will stand for four and a half," salutveraa sarcastically remarked.

Other commentators doubted the assessment of the situation by the Ministry of Energy of Abkhazia. "Everything is as it was, and it still is," stated kristina_samandzhiya.

"What do you mean, they are still encountered? Are there times when they are not? ... Get down to earth, drive around the gas stations," urged rauka666.

"What reductions in queues are you talking about?" asked elizaveta_arturovna.

The agency's assessment does not match the situation at gas stations, pointed out arturdbar8111. "You say one thing, the gas stations say another. Your opinion does not match reality, and ordinary people are suffering," noted the user.

"Is this a joke?" inquired ekskursii_po_abhazii777.

Users also specifically noted the operation of small private gas stations and the cost of fuel at them. Gasoline at such stations is sold for 110-120 rubles per liter, reported transfer_abkhazia. "You should also fix the prices, because besides the queue, who knows what else. 110-120 rubles per liter at these private stations," he noted.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of July, the authorities of Abkhazia called the fuel problem temporary, but in early August, drivers continued to report long waits at gas stations.
