On the 625th day of continuous protests, participants of the daily pro-European rallies in Tbilisi gathered at the parliament and city council building, despite the heavy rain that flooded the streets.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 13, on the 624th day of continuous protests in Tbilisi, demonstrators once again reminded about the war with Russia. Activists also announced a march to draw attention to the mass emigration of Georgian citizens.

Supporters of the Euro-Atlantic course gathered this evening at the buildings of the Parliament of Georgia and the Tbilisi City Council, demanding the release of political prisoners, the repeal of repressive laws, and the holding of free elections. The action is taking place for the 625th consecutive day, reports Publika.

Demonstrators took to the streets in pouring storm rain. In a video published by Tabula, dozens of people are seen standing at the parliament, sheltering from the rain under umbrellas, some wearing raincoats.

Refugees from Abkhazia today, on the 34th anniversary of the start of hostilities, gathered at the Heroes Memorial in Tbilisi, remembering the days of the war. "The flow of people at the memorial did not stop today. Everyone paid tribute to the heroes who sacrificed themselves for the unity of the country for 13 months and 13 days," reports Pirveli.

The Tbilisi City Hall late in the evening acknowledged that as a result of heavy rainfall, the streets, basements, and the metro stations "Rustaveli" and "Vaja-Pshavela" were flooded.

"A particularly large amount of precipitation fell on Tamarashvili Avenue. In the Saburtalo area, on Chikovani Street, a gas pipeline was damaged, causing residents of a nearby building to be evacuated," quotes the city administration's message Tbilisi_life.

Participants in the protests in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Security forces have conducted harsh dispersals of protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detained protesters. During the protests, thousands of people have faced administrative prosecution.
