The case of the shootout near the school in Dagestan has reached the court.

Five defendants who shot at local residents near a school in the village of Unzukul in October 2025 will stand trial.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", a shootout involving six people occurred near a school in the village of Unzukul in October last year, and three people were hospitalized with injuries.

Investigators in Dagestan have completed the investigation of the criminal case against five local residents accused of attempted murder of two or more persons, illegal acquisition and carrying of weapons, and hooliganism, the regional Investigative Committee reported today on its Telegram channel.

According to the investigation, in October 2025, the defendants, being near the school in the village of Unzukul, opened fire with firearms at three local residents. After the victims with injuries were taken to the district hospital, the defendants continued shooting already on the premises of the medical facility.

"The defendants were unable to carry out their criminal intent to the end and deprive the victims of life due to circumstances beyond their control - due to the active resistance of the victims and the timely provision of medical assistance to them," the agency's message states.

The criminal case has been sent to the prosecutor for approval of the indictment. After that, the case will be sent to court for substantive consideration.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that at the end of June, a shootout occurred on the territory of the former school in the village of Tarki, as a result of which one participant was killed and two were injured. Two individuals involved in the criminal case initiated due to the conflict were taken into custody.
