The Chechen family is at risk of deportation from Germany to Russia.

The German authorities refused to grant asylum to the Abuyev couple and their four children. The head of the family had been imprisoned in Chechnya for several years, and upon returning to the Russian Federation, he faces persecution, said the human rights activist.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in July, activists from the Chechen diaspora held pickets at German embassies in the capitals of Austria, the Czech Republic, and Finland in support of the Chechen refugee Muslim Alkhazov, who is at risk of deportation from Germany to Russia. Due to the tightening of migration legislation in Europe, hundreds of refugees from Chechnya are at risk of deportation, human rights activists stated.

After the refusal to grant asylum, the German authorities demand that all members of the Abuyev family leave the country. According to human rights activist Roza Dunaeva, the head of the family spent several years in a Chechen prison. The youngest of the four Abuyev children is now ten years old, writes today “Dosh Kavkaza”.

Dunaeva noted that the German authorities have changed their approach to considering protection requests, and the number of positive decisions on applications from ethnic Chechens in this country has decreased several times.

Human rights activists urged German officials to approach the assessment of the circumstances of all asylum seekers individually and informally.

“The Abuyev family reported persecution, threats, and serious concerns about what might happen to them if they return to Russia. They also provided information about the persecution of relatives and tragic circumstances affecting members of their family,” the publication on Roza Dunaeva's Facebook page states.

The human rights activist added that she and her colleague Fatima Gazieva have already sent more than 20 appeals, complaints, and official requests to the competent authorities in Germany regarding the Abuyev family case.
