Picket participants in Yerevan supported Russian prisoners.

At the embassies of Russia and Germany in Yerevan, activists held pickets in support of people they consider political prisoners.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in Yerevan, activists have repeatedly held pickets demanding the release of prisoners, whose prosecution they consider unjust. This concerns prisoners in Russia as well as in European countries. Thus, on August 2, participants of the action in Yerevan at the Russian embassy demanded the release of prisoners they consider political prisoners – this includes those convicted in the "Furgal case".

Today in Yerevan, a picket was held at the German embassy in support of Dmitry Bagrash. Participants of the action called on the German authorities not to extradite him to Russia. Activists believe that this would create a threat of political persecution and torture, as reported by the Telegram channel RusNews.

The reason for the picket was Bagrash's appeal to the Potsdam prosecutor's office regarding a death threat. According to him, on August 5, while working in the German prison JVA Heidering, another prisoner repeatedly insulted him on anti-Semitic grounds, spat in his face three times, and threatened to cut his throat, as stated in the publication.

Also today, a picket was held at the Russian embassy in Yerevan in support of Russian prisoners. Participants of the action held placards depicting former governor of the Khabarovsk region Sergey Furgal, his accountant Galina Aleinikova, and her deputy Svetlana Osipenko, noted the Telegram channel.

Recall that, according to the German prosecutor's office, Dmitry Bagrash attempted to set fire to the building of the Russian news agency RIA "Novosti" in Berlin in 2022. The investigation believes that he placed a homemade bomb in the basement of the building where agency employees lived, reported the Berlin newspaper Tagesspiegel on June 22 on its website.

The bomb did not go off, and it was later discovered by security forces. On June 20, Bagrash was charged with attempted murder. Before his arrest, Bagrash held actions against Vladimir Putin's policies, the publication indicated.

Sergey Furgal was sentenced to 23 years in prison. In December 2025, he received a new sentence – Furgal was found guilty on economic charges of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, with a total sentence of 25 years.
