Residents of Chechnya pointed out to officials the high prices for fuel.

In Chechnya, a liter of AI-95 costs up to 119 rubles, while a liter of AI-92 costs up to 104 rubles, local residents noted, commenting on social media about the authorities' report on the absence of fuel shortages in the republic. They demanded an explanation for the rise in fuel prices and called for inspections of gas stations.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 2, the authorities of Chechnya announced that there is no fuel shortage in the republic, and gasoline and diesel are available in sufficient quantities at all gas stations. According to the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Fuel and Energy of the republic, information on stocks and supplies is updated constantly, which allows for uninterrupted supply to consumers. Acting head of the department Iles Masaev stated that the situation at each gas station is monitored daily and urged not to believe the rumors about shortages circulating on social media.

The report from the authorities of Chechnya about the absence of fuel shortages in the republic was posted on August 2 on the Instagram*-page grozny_inform. As of 11:50 AM Moscow time on August 3, this post had received 180 likes and 20 comments.

Among the commentators, the main topic of discussion was the high fuel prices in the republic despite the declared absence of shortages. Users asked the authorities of Chechnya to explain the reasons for the price increase.

"If there is no shortage, what is the reason for such a price increase compared to regions where there is a shortage? All fuel has doubled in price," wrote user black_phanter95.

"Why are the prices so high then?" asked user jonspeak210.

Commentators provided data on fuel prices at specific gas stations. According to them, the price of AI-95 reached 109–119 rubles per liter, while AI-92 was 104 rubles.

"AI-95 today at Shell Oil – 109 rubles, and it’s not a fact that they fill it properly," stated user dilyafly.

Participants in the discussion also called for inspections of gas stations and a reduction in fuel prices. One user reported that both "Rosneft" gas stations in Grozny are closed.

"Both Rosneft gas stations in Grozny are closed. The lights are off, and the entrances are blocked. The only gas station where there was a reasonable price for gasoline," noted yuliya_tadeuschevna.

"Prices are astronomical. Don’t just look at the gas stations. Conduct a special inspection. They are getting rich, including on gas," stated user musia6564.

"Lower the prices. This is already unbearable," demanded user tapchirdig.

As of 11:50 AM Moscow time, there are no comments on the website of the Ministry of Industry, Trade, Fuel and Energy of Chechnya regarding local residents' complaints about high fuel prices.

Recall that against the backdrop of the fuel crisis in Chechnya, demand for the installation of gas equipment has increased, with local residents stating that the cost of installation work in auto services reaches up to 120,000 rubles, and for certain vehicles – up to 150,000 rubles.
