A soldier from Dagestan was killed in Ukraine

Murad Aligadzhiev from Makhachkala was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have acknowledged at least 2054 combatants from Dagestan killed there.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by July 31, officials and security forces officially named the names of at least 2053 killed soldiers from Dagestan in Ukraine.

The administration of Makhachkala reported today in its Telegram channel about the unveiling of a memorial plaque for Murad Aligadzhiev, who was killed in the military operation.

Murad Aligadzhiev was born in Makhachkala on August 14, 1976. After finishing school, he worked as a repairman at a separator factory, obtained a driver's profession, and served in the military. In 2022, he signed a contract and served as a gunner in a motorized rifle battalion.

Since the beginning of 2024, he participated in combat operations in Ukraine. On March 24, during shelling in the Zaporizhzhia region, he came under enemy fire and went missing. His parents waited for news for almost a year, and only on May 9, 2025, they were informed about the discovery of their son's remains. On May 10, Aligadzhiev was buried in his ancestral village of Dorgeli in the Karabudakhkent district.

The number of fighters killed in Ukraine from southern Russia has reached 9500

At least 4727 fighters from the North Caucasus Federal District and 4773 military personnel from the Southern Federal District have been officially recognized as killed in the special operation in Ukraine.

Thus, at least 2054 military personnel from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District who were killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report from "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Operation: losses for southern Russia are increasing".

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, as stated in the material from "Caucasian Knot" "Three comrades served: how authorities deprive families of killed volunteers of benefits", which describes the stories of the killed fighters. In particular, the widow of one of the killed recounted that without a body, the battalion did not make payments related to the death of the serviceman.
