A resident of Ingushetia is under investigation due to a comment on social media.

Law enforcement officers discovered a "positive assessment of the actions of militants" in a comment left on social media by a laborer from the village of Nesterovskoye.

The detained man is 38 years old. Judging by the operational video recording, an armed SOBR unit arrived at a private house in an armored truck for his detention. The suspect came out to the security forces without resisting.

The laborer from the rural settlement of Nesterovskoye is suspected of publicly justifying terrorism via the internet (part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of Russia). This article provides for a prison sentence of five to seven years.

The reason for the criminal prosecution was a comment that the man left in March 2024 on a media platform blocked in Russia. According to the version of the security forces, the man commented on a publication about the activities of participants in a banned international terrorist organization from his smartphone, expressing a "positive assessment of the actions of militants."

“The measure of restraint chosen for the suspect is a subscription to not leave and proper behavior,” the official Telegram channel of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs states.

The laborer from Ingushetia has been detained by operatives on suspicion of publicly justifying terrorism, reports the press service of the republican Ministry of Internal Affairs.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in July, FSB officers detained a 29-year-old resident of Novorossiysk, accused of publicly justifying terrorist activities due to comments in a Telegram channel.
