A teenager from Adygea was fined for justifying terrorism.

The court sentenced a resident of Adygea to a fine for a video about a missile strike and comments on it. The court also prohibited the young man from engaging in website administration.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in May, the prosecutor's office of Adygea submitted the case of a teenager from Adygea to the court with an indictment, who was accused of justifying terrorism due to comments on social media. The reason for initiating the case was the publication of video material about the consequences of the strike on houses and cars.

According to the investigation and the court, in January 2026, a local resident, while in one of the settlements of Adygea, posted a video on a social network that is recognized as extremist and banned in Russia.

The video recorded the consequences of a destructive missile strike on apartment buildings and civilian cars in one of the settlements. At the same time, he justified and gave a positive assessment of the consequences of the missile strike, the press service of the Investigative Committee of Adygea informs today on its page on "VKontakte".

The evidence collected by the investigators was recognized by the court as sufficient for sentencing him for the crime provided for by part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public justification of terrorism committed using information and telecommunications networks).

By the court's verdict, the defendant was sentenced to a fine and deprived of the right to engage in activities related to website administration for a period of two years.

At the same time, the press service of the agency does not name the convicted person and does not specify which social network and what specific comments were left by the accused. The agency also does not clarify where exactly the video of the consequences of the missile strike was filmed.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that courts in southern Russia regularly sentence local residents to real terms in prison for publications on social media. It is not possible to establish the actual number of such sentences, as not all cases of justifying terrorism end up in public court records.
