Pashinyan announced the date of the formal resignation

The government led by Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan will resign on August 2. The candidate for the new Prime Minister will be chosen at the first meeting of the parliament elected in the June elections, where Pashinyan's party "Civil Contract" has the majority, and submitted for approval to the country's president.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the "Civil Contract" party, led by the current Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan, won the parliamentary elections in the country. Commenting on its victory, Pashinyan stated that the three-headed party of war has been defeated (referring to the bloc "Strong Armenia", the bloc "Armenia", and the party "Prosperous Armenia").

At today's meeting of the Armenian government, the Prime Minister of the country Nikol Pashinyan announced the timeline for the cabinet's resignation.

"We will resign on Sunday," News.am quoted him as saying.

He explained that the last meeting of the cabinet of ministers has concluded in connection with the formation of the ninth convocation of parliament.

Pashinyan added that after the resignation of the government, the President of Armenia will appoint a Prime Minister candidate presented by the parliamentary majority.

"We are holding a meeting in the current composition for the last time," the Prime Minister noted, thanking his colleagues for their work.
