The publication on the social network led a resident of the Cherek district to a fine.

The court fined a resident of the Cherek district of Kabardino-Balkaria, Kazbek Kazakov, acknowledging that the video he published on the social network "VKontakte" discredited the army.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on March 4, 2022, responsibility for discrediting the armed forces was introduced, since then residents of Russia, including Kabardino-Balkaria, have been prosecuted under the relevant article 20.3.3 of the Code of Administrative Offenses of the Russian Federation. It provides for a fine of up to 100,000 rubles for citizens, and repeated violations within a year threaten criminal prosecution.

According to the case materials, resident of the Cherek district Kazbek Kazakov published a video on his page in the social network "VKontakte", which contained a call to evade military service. The video was discovered by law enforcement. They deemed its content to discredit the army.

In court, Kazbek Kazakov explained that he unknowingly copied the video and posted it on his page on "VKontakte". He expressed remorse for his actions and admitted guilt. The court found Kazakov guilty of discrediting the armed forces and fined him 15,000 rubles, as indicated in the case card published on the website of the Cherek District Court.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that earlier a court in Nalchik fined local resident Diana Zhabojeva, finding her guilty of discrediting the military.
