Lawyers appealed to the court against the arrest of the board member of the opposition party "Mother Armenia" Arekhnaz Manukyan.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", earlier, the candidate for deputy from the "Prosperous Armenia" party and board member of the "Mother Armenia" party Arekhnaz Manukyan was arrested for two months.

The defense of the board member of the opposition party "Mother Armenia" Arekhnaz Manukyan appealed her arrest in the Armenian Court of Appeals.

"The team of lawyers for the board member of the "Mother Armenia" party Arekhnaz Manukyan filed a complaint in the appellate criminal court against the decision of the first instance court to apply a two-month arrest against her," the party's press service said in a statement quoted by News.am.

Previously, Manukyan sent a letter from the pre-trial detention center, stating that she is innocent. She also noted that she is isolated from the outside world and deprived of the opportunity to even talk on the phone with her 13-year-old daughter and 85-year-old mother, reports "Armenpress".

It should be noted that on May 22, employees of the NSS conducted searches in the office of the "Mother Armenia" party and in the apartment of its leader Andranik Tevanyan, who is second on the list of candidates from the "Prosperous Armenia" party. Tevanyan is accused of treason and espionage. The court placed him under arrest for two months, allowing him to participate in the electoral processes through representatives. "Prosperous Armenia" and the "Mother Armenia" party participated together in the parliamentary elections.

The opposition parties "Prosperous Armenia" and "Wings of Unity", as well as the "Armenia" bloc, demanded that the election commission recount the votes of voters at 555 polling stations, while "Strong Armenia" demanded to annul the results at one of the stations. As a result of the recount, the result for "Prosperous Armenia" increased by 140 votes. On June 11, the results of voting at two polling stations in Armenia were annulled by the decision of the Central Election Commission. As a result, "Prosperous Armenia" lost 213 votes.

The parliamentary elections effectively became a referendum on the future of the current government and Armenia's foreign policy course. A reference titled "2026 Elections to the National Assembly (Parliament) of Armenia" has been published on the "Caucasian Knot".
