A soldier from Dagestan killed in Ukraine

Alimur Shakhsayev from Khasavyurt was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have publicly named the names of at least 2033 soldiers killed there from Dagestan.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by July 14, officials had officially recognized at least 2032 fighters from Dagestan as killed in Ukraine.

The head of Khasavyurt, Korgoli Korgoliev, named another soldier from Dagestan killed in Ukraine today, reporting the transfer of a posthumous award to his relatives.

The deceased is Junior Sergeant Alimur Shakhsayev, who was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. Korgoliev presented the order to Shakhsayev's wife, according to a publication on the municipality's Telegram channel.

The age and details of Shakhsayev's biography are not provided in the official's message. Earlier, in 2026, Khasavyurt School No. 3 reported on its “VKontakte” page about the opening of a named desk in honor of Alimur Shakhsayev - it was noted in this publication that the soldier is the father of one of the students in the 7th “B” class.

Thus, at least 2033 soldiers from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies, according to the report from "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".

In early June, the administration of Makhachkala named another soldier killed in Ukraine, who was Ali Zaidiev.

Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of killed whose names have been officially disclosed by the authorities. Sergey Melikov, who headed Dagestan in February 2022, was the first among representatives of the authorities to report that a Russian soldier had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.
