Beka Chulukhadze refused to admit guilt on charges of organizing diversions.

Beka Chulukhadze, detained in connection with the preparation of diversions, which, according to the security forces, were supposed to occur simultaneously with the attempted storming of the presidential palace in Georgia, does not admit guilt and denies his involvement in the cache of weapons.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on July 10, the State Security Service of Georgia reported the detention of a person who was wanted in connection with the attempted storming of the presidential palace on October 4. The security forces found him in the neutral zone between the Georgian and Armenian border checkpoints, said Lasha Magradze, the first deputy head of the State Security Service, at a briefing.

Beka Chulukhadze, detained in connection with the October 4 case, does not admit guilt, said the lawyer of the detained Chulukhadze, Gaios Charkviani, who was wanted internationally.

As Charkviani explained, he has not met with his client since the detention, so he is not aware of the details of the detention at this stage.

"He has been charged in connection with the case of October 4, 2025, the charge was brought in absentia. The case is currently being considered on the merits in the Tbilisi City Court. The process is scheduled for August 11," Charkviani said.

Beka Chulukhadze was detained in the neutral zone between the border crossing points of Georgia and Armenia. On October 6 of last year, he was charged in absentia under part 3 of Article 236 of the Criminal Code of Georgia. The Tbilisi City Court chose detention as a preventive measure, and he was declared wanted on October 8.

The weapons, according to the investigation, were acquired by Chulukhadze "at the direction of a representative of one of the military units of Georgian origin operating in Ukraine." However, the SGB does not specify who exactly is being referred to, writes Tbilisi Life.

The SGB also stated that it is establishing possible connections between Chulukhadze and individuals who, according to the investigation, gave him instructions, with former Minister of Defense Bacho Akhalaia, opera singer Paata Burchaladze, and other individuals whom the agency links to the events of October 4.

Beka Chulukhadze rejected the accusations. In November 2025, in an interview with TV Pirveli, he stated that he has no connection to the found weapons and considers the accusations false.
