A member of a terrorist community has been detained in Ingushetia for bribing a security officer.

A resident of Ingushetia, whom the investigation considers a participant in a banned terrorist community in Russia, has been detained in a case involving bribery of a police officer for processing a passport.

The suspect is 54 years old, and a new criminal case has been initiated against him under the article on giving a bribe for committing knowingly illegal actions (part 3 of article 291 of the Criminal Code of Russia, which provides for up to eight years in prison). The man is already in pre-trial detention - he was previously detained by security forces and arrested by the court in a case of aiding in the organization of terrorist activities (part 1 of article 205.4 of the Criminal Code of Russia provides for imprisonment of fifteen to twenty years).

According to the investigation's version, in February 2026, the suspect, through an intermediary, transferred 150,000 rubles to an inspector of the migration department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Nazran district. The bribe was intended for the processing and issuance of a Russian citizen's passport in the name of a resident of the republic, who was knowingly not present when submitting the application and receiving the document.

The intermediary has been separately charged with mediating in the transfer of a bribe (part 2 of article 291.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation), the Investigative Committee of Ingushetia reported today on its Telegram channel.

The name of the organization of which the suspect is considered a member is not disclosed in official reports, although it is indicated that it concerns a "terrorist community operating in the region." Investigators are establishing other facts of illegal activities and criminal connections of the individuals involved, notes Interfax, citing the FSB of Ingushetia.

Analysts debated the reasons for the persecution of the Batalkhadzhintsy

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in early July, security forces detained in Ingushetia Batalkhadzhin Magomet Mutsolgov, who is accused of kidnapping an apartment owner in Moscow, extortion, and murder. In February 2023, the FSB included the combat wing of the Batalkhadzhintsy in the list of terrorist organizations.

Batalkhadji Belkhoroev is an Ingush sheikh, the founder of one of the Kadirite branches (vird), a follower of Sheikh Kunta-Khadji, as reported in a reference published on the "Caucasian Knot" titled "Batalkhadji and his followers".
