A soldier from Dagestan was killed in Ukraine

Anzor Selyakhov from the Akhtynsky district was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have publicly named the names of at least 2027 killed combatants from Dagestan.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by July 6, officials and security forces officially recognized at least 4738 fighters from the Southern Federal District and 4662 from the North Caucasian Federal District as killed in Ukraine, including 2026 from Dagestan.

The name of another soldier from Dagestan killed in Ukraine was announced by the administration of the Akhtynsky district, reporting on the transfer of a posthumous award to his relatives.

Anzor Selyakhov from the village of Zryk was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage. The award was handed over to his older brother Ruslan, the municipal administration reported.

The age of the deceased and details of his biography were not provided in the officials' message.

Thus, at least 2027 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasian Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report of "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".

At the end of June, the administration of the Akhtynsky district reported that a native of the village of Akhty, Jamidin Yuzbekov, and a native of the village of Smugul, Mutalib Isakov, were killed in Ukraine.

Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasian Federal District in the number of killed whose names have been officially disclosed by the authorities. Sergey Melikov, who headed Dagestan in February 2022, was the first among representatives of the authorities to announce that a Russian soldier had been killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.
