Waste disposal near the hamlet in Adygea has turned into a criminal case.

Alexander Bastrykin instructed to initiate a case regarding the storage of waste in open areas in the Shovgenovsky district of Adygea.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the sluggishness of the authorities in Sunzha after complaints from residents about the spontaneous dump attracted attention to the problem at the federal level and created a "uncontrolled reputational risk," complained the head of the Regional Management Center to the Ingush government. The discussion of this problem occurred against the backdrop of a statement by the Interior Ministry general that unresolved housing and utilities issues provoke an increase in protest activity.

The head of the Investigative Committee of Russia, Alexander Bastrykin, instructed to initiate a criminal case for violations of environmental legislation after information was published about the disposal of animal remains in Adygea. "In the hamlet of Pikalin, near residential houses, a waste disposal enterprise operates. It stores waste in the open air, which leads to negative consequences. Authorized bodies are taking measures, but they are not yielding results," the Investigative Committee's message, quoted by Interfax, states.

The publication about the compost pit located near residential houses in the hamlet of Pikalin with animal remains in Adygea was made by the Telegram channel Baza on June 30. According to local residents, the waste disposal company "Utilitservice-Yug" dug a pit with entrails and animal remains 300 meters from their homes. People complained that in the heat, the stench spreads throughout the settlement.

The general director of "Utilitservice-Yug" in a conversation with the Telegram channel called all complaints slander, emphasizing that the company's technology is completely airtight: waste is processed in isolated containers using biopreparations, which excludes the spread of odor and contact with the soil, and regular inspections by the Rosselkhoznadzor revealed no violations. According to him, in September 2025, the prosecutor's office issued warnings to the company twice, which were subsequently addressed.

It is worth noting that residents of the Kuban stanitsa of Poltavskaya fought a long battle for the closure of the landfill. On December 4, 2023, the landfill was closed. Opponents of the landfill have repeatedly faced administrative and criminal prosecution. They consider this pressure and revenge for their active stance regarding the landfill.
