Abkhaz villagers independently tidied up the area of the memorial complex.

Residents of the village of Lower Eshera cleaned the area around the memorial to Vladislav Ardzinba. Other residents of Abkhazia, commenting on the villagers' initiative on social media, wondered why officials do not keep the memorial complex in order. They also criticized people who litter.

A post about the residents of the village of Lower Eshera in the Sukhumi district independently cleaning up the area around the memorial to Vladislav Ardzinba was published on Instagram* by the public chp_abh on June 29.

"The area was cleaned and the section near the memorial complex was put in order," the post says.

A video was attached to the publication, showing many bottles lying on the ground. Then the same place is shown again, but now without trash.

This post in the Instagram* public chp_abh, which has about 94.9 thousand followers, received 793 likes and 62 comments by 10:00 Moscow time on June 1. Some of the authors praised the participants of the cleanup.

Another part of the users wondered why the administration does not monitor the order in the area of the memorial complex.

"Well done, guys. But where is the district administration? Is taking care of the memorial not part of their functions?" asked user ank3019a.

"It's not clean where they clean, but where they don't litter. How can you not respect yourself, nature, the place where you live?" noted user e_l_i_s_o_.

Commentators called for cleanliness. "Well done, guys, really, but people – this is our land and city, how can this be?" wrote lia_dziba.

"Wow, look at how much trash was thrown. Probably aliens from Mars?" sarcastically remarked lagulaagocha.

"In a couple of days it will be the same as it was. When will we learn to appreciate our nature?" asked chanba_madina_.

"I am ashamed that we cannot live in cleanliness. It is shameful that there is so much trash in such a place. It is shameful that we do not take care of nature, animals, birds. It is shameful and painful for our land, which the Lord has given us. Take care of the earth, be kinder. Well done, guys, not everyone will do such a thing, but everyone can throw trash, and there are many of them," emphasized sveta_taran1.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that earlier residents of Sukhumi called on the authorities to solve the problem of vandalism. Unknown individuals leave inscriptions on the Sukhumi embankment, reported Abkhaz blogger Vladimir Kvachakhia. Residents, commenting on his post on social media, called on the authorities to install video cameras and impose strict penalties for vandalism.
