Six people have been arrested in Rostov-on-Don for extremism.

Six people have been arrested in Rostov-on-Don on charges of participating in an extremist organization and hooliganism.

According to investigators, a 63-year-old local resident and three accomplices joined an extremist organization banned in Russia in 2022.

Following this, they systematically held meetings where they promoted negative attitudes toward representatives of other similar organizations, Kommersant reported on June 20.

All those detained are also charged with assaulting a person in Rostov-on-Don. Depending on their role and degree of involvement, they are accused of committing crimes under Part 2 of Article 282.2 of the Russian Criminal Code (participation in the activities of an extremist organization) and Part 2 of Article 213 of the Russian Criminal Code (hooliganism committed by a group of persons). All of them have been remanded in custody.

Previously, "Caucasian Knot" reported that in early June, 10 people were detained in Baksan, who, according to law enforcement, exerted physical and psychological pressure on other local residents.
