Residents of the village of Vozrozhdenie in Gelendzhik independently restored a bridge across a river that had been washed away by floodwaters. Commenters on Telegram criticized officials for their indifference to the residents' concerns.

A video showing residents of the village of Vozrozhdenie installing a new bridge was published on June 13 by the Telegram channel "Tupodar Krasnodar."

The footage shows the river and several dozen people installing the metal structure. Footage then continues, showing the bridge previously washed away by the river. The new bridge is shown again, its structure lying on the ground, with two people painting it.

"Local residents repaired the bridge that was washed away by water in the Zhane River valley themselves, ensuring access and communication with neighboring settlements," the publication states.

This post on the Telegram channel "Tupodar Krasnodar," which has over 55,700 subscribers, had garnered about 5,500 views and 23 comments as of 6:50 AM Moscow time on June 14.

"Thanks to the regional administration," quipped a user with the nickname S.

"Why are they [highly expressive expression] sitting in the administration? Kick them out, kick them out."

How many of them there are, only God knows, and there's a budget for them. "It's being spent. The result is zero," wrote a user with the nickname s0m3t1ng.

As of 6:50 AM Moscow time on June 14, the websites of the Krasnodar Krai administration and the Gelendzhik administration have no comments regarding the independent restoration of the bridge by Gelendzhik residents.
