Krasnodar residents criticized officials for the storm drain problem.

In Krasnodar, some streets were flooded after heavy rainfall. Residents attributed this to non-functioning storm drains. They criticized officials on social media and demanded that the authorities pay more attention to the city's problems.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," Krasnodar residents have previously complained repeatedly about some streets being flooded during rainfall. For example, on July 23, 2022, the Muzykalny microdistrict was flooded after a downpour. Residents noted that officials and utility services failed to respond. They complained that flooding in various parts of the city occurs regularly due to problems with non-functioning storm drains.

After heavy rain, some streets in Krasnodar were flooded. On June 12, the Instagram* page typodar published a video showing a city street. Cars are parked there, the water level rising above their bottoms. Pedestrians are unable to cross the flooded street, and a tractor-loader driver decides to come to their aid. He lowered the bucket, which several people had climbed onto, and transported them to the other side of the street.

This post on the Instagram* public page typodar, which has about 251,000 followers, had garnered 2,657 likes and 138 comments as of 12:20 p.m. Moscow time on June 13. Some of the comments questioned why the authorities aren't addressing the storm drain problem.

Other commenters believed the problem was due to the city's chaotic development. "It was impossible to build houses there, everything was paved over," wrote alex_656_. "There was no point in building a house on the site of fields. Nature remembers everything and waters it out of habit," noted valya4192.
