Last night, air defense systems on duty intercepted and destroyed 376 Ukrainian fixed-wing drones, including in the Rostov Region, Abkhazia, and over the Azov and Black Seas, the Ministry of Defense reported on its Telegram channel.

According to the publication, the remaining drones were shot down in the Belgorod, Bryansk, Kaluga, Kursk, Leningrad, Novgorod, Oryol, Pskov, Ryazan, Smolensk, Tver, Tula, and Moscow Regions, as well as in Crimea. The ministry did not specify how many drones were shot down in each region.

This is the first time the Russian Ministry of Defense has reported that drones were shot down over Abkhazia, Kommersant reports.

As of 10:10 Moscow time, the Abkhaz Ministry of Defense had not reported any drone attacks on its website.

The Abkhaz side had previously reported similar incidents.

As a reminder, three dozen drones were shot down over Abkhazia on March 4. Drone debris was found in 11 populated areas, causing a power outage in one village.

Today, when the fall of drones has been recorded in many populated areas, there is nothing to hide: the air defenses of Abkhazia and Russia are working together," he stated.

Secretary of the Abkhazian Security Council, Raul Lolua, reported on March 5 that it had not yet been possible to determine the origin of the drones. He emphasized that the drones did not strike Abkhazia and "were neutralized by electronic warfare systems."

Georgia is unlikely to be involved in the drone attack on Abkhazia, Russian military analysts indicated. They are confident that it is premature to talk about the weakness of Abkhaz air defenses. Abkhaz experts, for their part, noted that the attack had no significant consequences.

Earlier, on February 23, an explosion occurred on Mount Mamzyshkha in Abkhazia. Debris, presumably from a UAV, were found at the scene.
