Two people were injured in a drone attack in Taganrog, and a fire broke out at the port. Damage to houses was also reported in two villages in the Rostov Region.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," a missile was destroyed in Taganrog on the morning of May 27. Two women were taken to the hospital, and doctors described one of them as being in serious condition. Authorities declared a local state of emergency.

Last night, according to preliminary information, as a result of a drone hitting a private house in Taganrog, two people were injured; doctors are providing assistance to them, Rostov Region Governor Yuri Slyusar reported on his Telegram channel.

"During the repulsion of an air attack on the Rostov Region last night, drones were destroyed in the city of Taganrog, Chertkovsky, Matveyevo-Kurgansky, and Neklinovsky districts," he wrote.

According to the governor, a tanker and a fuel tank caught fire in the port of Taganrog as a result of the attack and an administrative building. "According to preliminary information, there are no casualties," Slyusar reported.

In the village of Grekovo-Timofeyevka in the Matveyevo-Kurgan District, a gas pipe in a house caught fire "as a result of falling UAV debris," damaging the roof and windows. "There are no casualties. People have been evacuated. Emergency services are working at the scene," the official wrote.

In the village of Botsmanovo in the Neklinovsky District, the windows in two houses were damaged, but there are no casualties, the governor added.

Taganrog is regularly mentioned in air attack reports

Taganrog, in the western district of which the Beriev Aircraft Plant (TANTK) is located, is regularly subject to air attacks. For example, on April 19, three people were injured in a drone attack, and the aircraft plant and park were cordoned off. Telegram users then called for the evacuation of the plant outside the city limits for the safety of residents.

According to official data, since November 2025, at least five people have been killed in air attacks in Taganrog . Reports of these incidents mentioned addresses located near the Beriev Aircraft Company.

On May 17, the Rostov Region was hit by three drone attacks. One attack damaged the building of the Azov branch of the Don Technical University. During another attack, a drone was shot down over a children's camp where people were camping, and debris damaged the building's roof. On the morning and afternoon of May 17, drones were also shot down in Taganrog.

Residents of a building in central Taganrog damaged by a rocket in the summer of 2023 were paid 10,000 rubles each by authorities and had their broken windows replaced, although the apartments required significant repairs. Victims have the right to seek compensation through the courts, lawyers interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" indicated.

Vehicle damage has repeatedly appeared in reports on the consequences of drone attacks in the Rostov Region, but compensation for it was not provided until December 2025. Only after a Taganrog resident who lost his car asked about payments during a direct line with the governor did authorities establish a compensation procedure for car owners. The resolution provides for a payment of up to 500,000 rubles for a damaged vehicle and up to a million for a destroyed one.
