Irina Polischuk has been sent to pretrial detention.

The court has remanded former head of the Zernograd administration, Irina Polischuk, who is accused of abuse of office and forgery, to pretrial detention.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in October 2024, the head of the Zernograd administration, Irina Polischuk, was suspected of abuse of office. According to investigators, she signed acceptance certificates for substandard road work, during which, instead of full pothole repairs, potholes were simply filled with crushed stone and compacted. In early June 2025, the court compromised her preventive measure to a ban on certain actions. Her case was referred to trial.

The court changed the preventive measure for former head of the Zernograd administration, Irina Polishchuk, from a ban on certain actions to arrest, Kommersant reported on May 29.

Polishchuk will remain in pretrial detention until July 17.

In addition to abuse of office (Part 3 of Article 286 of the Russian Criminal Code), Polishchuk was also charged with official forgery (Part 2 of Article 292 of the Russian Criminal Code). The first article carries a prison sentence of three to ten years, the second - up to four years. Polischuk spent four months in a pre-trial detention center, after which the court softened her pre-trial detention and transferred her to house arrest.

In November 2023, Polischuk was fined 100,000 rubles: the court found her guilty of disseminating knowingly false information following an accident at a local water supply system, which Polischuk called "sabotage."
