A North Ossetian resident was fined for insulting a state symbol.

Detectives from the North Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs discovered public statements insulting the official state symbol of the Russian Federation on a messaging app.

An unknown individual posted a comment containing derogatory and cynical assessments of the state emblem, the press service of the North Ossetian Ministry of Internal Affairs reported today on its website.

During the search, police identified the author of the post as a 26-year-old resident of Vladikavkaz.

According to experts, the comment contained colloquial language with a clearly negative connotation.
