The suspension of traffic on the Crimean Bridge has led to train delays in Kuban.

Sixteen passenger trains were delayed in the Krasnodar Krai due to a more than 10-hour suspension of traffic on the Crimean Bridge. The restrictions were imposed in the wake of drone attacks in Crimea and the Kuban region.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," on May 12, vehicle traffic on the Crimean Bridge across the Kerch Strait was temporarily closed. This raised questions among Telegram users about the reasons and duration of the restrictions.

16 passenger trains were delayed

Today, 16 passenger trains in the Krasnodar Territory were delayed for up to 8.5 hours, the North Caucasian Railway reported on its Telegram channel.

The delays are related to the suspension of traffic on the Crimean Bridge, the report noted. "Passengers on trains delayed for more than four hours are being provided with bottled water and food," the North Caucasus Railway reported.

Passengers on trains in Kuban continue to complain of hours-long delays

On December 31, 2025, dozens of trains were delayed due to snowfall. In Kuban, passengers had to celebrate the New Year in the cold, with broken toilets, not everyone received the promised meals, and had to wait more than a day for the train to depart, complained. Rail infrastructure service was restored only by the morning of January 3.

Vehicle traffic on the Crimean Bridge was stopped at 9:02 PM Moscow time on May 17, according to a post on the Telegram channel of the road information center about the situation on the approaches to the Crimean Bridge.

The information center reported that traffic had resumed at 7:29 AM Moscow time. Thus, the bridge was closed for approximately 10 and a half hours.

According to the information center, at 8:00 a.m. Moscow time, 150 vehicles were waiting in line for manual inspection on the Taman side and 200 on the Kerch side. However, by 9:00 a.m. Moscow time, there were no obstacles to accessing the manual inspection points on either side of the Crimean Bridge.

Drone attacks recorded in Kuban and Crimea

The reasons for the bridge closure were not specified in the information center's publications, but the travel restrictions were introduced in the wake of drone attacks, including those recorded in Krasnodar Krai and Crimea.

As a reminder, on July 17, 2023, the Crimean Bridge was attacked by Ukrainian drones, destroying one span and damaging another. Traffic on the bridge was restored only on November 1 of that year.

On October 8, 2022, an explosion occurred on the Crimean Bridge, collapsing two spans. Traffic on the bridge was resumed a month later. The FSB stated that Ukrainian military intelligence was the organizer of the terrorist attack. Human rights activists recognized all eight defendants in the bridge bombing case as political prisoners, claiming they were random individuals. On November 27, 2025, the court sentenced the defendants to life imprisonment.
