The appeals court upheld the seizure of Krasnodar Judge Nikolaychuk's property.

The decision of the court of first instance to confiscate the property of the former deputy chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court Igor Nikolaychuk and persons associated with him has been upheld.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, at the end of February, a court in Krasnodar converted the property of Judge Igor Nikolaychuk and persons associated with him, worth a total of over 13 billion rubles, to the state.

The civil division of the Krasnodar Regional Court found the Leninsky District Court of Krasnodar's decision to confiscate the property of Judge Nikolaychuk and related individuals in the amount of 13 billion rubles to be lawful and justified, the press service of the Krasnodar Regional Courts reported today on Telegram.

The trial court also forfeited 100% of the shares in the authorized capital of five organizations to the state. The court recovered 28 million rubles received for expropriated property and $2.2 million obtained through corruption, according to a press release.

As a reminder, according to the court, Igor Nikolaychuk, while serving as a judge and deputy chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court from 2007 to 2018, participated in the illegal construction of a luxury apartment building in Sochi. In exchange, he received two apartments with a total area of ​​over 300 square meters in the said residential complex from Chernov, the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court.

Furthermore, he was involved in commercial activities in the construction and rental of real estate, as well as in the production of PVC products. He concealed this illicit income from tax authorities. Nikolaychuk laundered part of this money by building a shopping and office center in Krasnodar. $2.2 million was spent on its construction.

The "Caucasian Knot" also reported that in August 2025, following a lawsuit filed by the Russian Prosecutor General's Office, the court confiscated assets worth 13 billion rubles from the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov. On January 31, 2026, the cassation court upheld the decision. At the end of April, the court also confiscated property belonging to Alexander Chernov's family, worth approximately 900 million rubles.
