Three suspects with links to terrorists were detained in Anapa.

Three Central Asians, whom security forces believe are recruiters for a terrorist organization in Syria, have been detained in Anapa.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," in September 2025, a court sentenced Muscovite Dzhokhar Khadzhiev to 5.5 years in prison, finding him guilty of attempting to join Syrian terrorists in 2024. Khadzhiev was detained at Sochi airport as he was planning to board a Turkish flight.

Citizens of a Central Asian republic, whom security forces believe to be members of a clandestine cell of an international terrorist organization, have been detained in Anapa, the FSB Directorate for Krasnodar Krai reported.

"During clandestine meetings, they recruited compatriots to join their ranks with the aim of their subsequent departure to Syria to participate in the activities of a terrorist organization," TASS quotes the agency's statement as saying today.

Three suspected members of the cell have been detained, and extremist literature banned in Russia has been seized from their place of residence, Interfax reports, citing the regional FSB Directorate.

Criminal cases have been opened under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 (incitement to participate in the activities of a terrorist organization), Part 5 of Article 33 - Part 2 of Article 205.5 (assistance in participation) (involved in the activities of a terrorist organization) and Part 1 of Article 30 - Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Russian Criminal Code (preparation for participation in the activities of a terrorist organization), the agency reports.

Part 2 of Article 205.5 of the Russian Criminal Code provides for 10 to 20 years' imprisonment, Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Russian Criminal Code - from eight to 15 years or up to life imprisonment.
