The road to seven villages in Dagestan is blocked after a landslide.

After a landslide, residents of seven villages in the Charodinsky District were left without transportation. The total number of blocked settlements in Dagestan has risen to 15.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot" newspaper, dozens of road sections in Dagestan were closed after floods, landslides, and in mountainous areas after avalanches and snowstorms. By the morning of April 21, 11 villages remained without transportation. In the Tlyaratinsky District, roads to the villages of Gvedysh, Gendukh, Kardib, Gindib, Khadiyal, and Tadiyal were blocked; in the Dakhadaevsky District, to the villages of Itsari and Dirbakmakhi; and in the Tsumadinsky District, to the villages of Santlada, Khvarshi, and Khonokh. On the evening of April 21, transport links with three villages in the Tsumadinsky District (Santlada, Khvarshi, and Khonokh) were restored.

As of 10:00 Moscow time on April 22, 15 settlements remain without transport links, Dagestanavtodor reports on its website. "Tlyaratinsky District – 6 settlements, Dakhadaevsky District – 2 settlements, Charodinsky District – 7 settlements. Emergency recovery operations are underway in all directions," the publication states.

In the Tlyaratinsky District, transport links remain interrupted with the villages of Gvedysh, Gendukh, Kardib, Gindib, Khadiyal, and Tadiyal, and in the Dakhadaevsky District – with the villages of Itsari and Dirbakmakhi.

New additions to the list of blocked settlements in the Charodinsky District include Alchunib, Archib, Keseriba, Khilih, Khitab, Kalib, and Kubatl. Transport links with the village were disrupted after a landslide occurred on the Tsurib-Archib highway, the department reported.

As a reminder, from April 12 to 18, landslides destroyed 28 houses in the Dakhadayevsky District, and another 127 were partially damaged. About 200 people were evacuated. "Of course, there is significant damage, and other villagers have suffered even more. we're helping each other as best we can. It's too early to talk about compensation, but we hope there will be some payments," a resident of the village of Urkarakh told the "Caucasian Knot" on April 20.

About 1.5 million residents of Dagestan were caught in the devastating flood zone. Six residents of the republic, including three minors, died as a result of the flooding. Additionally, on April 13, 19-year-old volunteer Artem Mikhrabov died in the hospital. He suffered a severe traumatic brain injury while helping residents of the flooded village of Mamedkala.

Floods caused by heavy rains began in the North Caucasus in late March and have become some of the most destructive in recent years. Dagestan and Chechnya suffered the most from the natural disaster, according to the Caucasian Knot report "Spring Flooding in the North Caucasus - 2026".
