The Astrakhan Region and Kuban Region were hit by drone attacks.

Last night, the military destroyed drones in the Astrakhan Region and the Krasnodar Krai. Drones were also shot down over the Black and Azov Seas.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," last night in the seaport of Tuapse, a man was killed in a drone attack, and another was injured.

From 8:00 PM Moscow time on April 19 to 7:00 AM Moscow time, air defense systems intercepted and destroyed 112 Ukrainian drones, including in the Astrakhan Region and Krasnodar Krai, the Ministry of Defense reported on its website.

According to the publication, drones were also shot down over the waters of the Azov and Black Seas, as well as in the Bryansk, Voronezh, Kaluga, and Kursk Regions and Crimea. The agency did not specify how many drones were destroyed in each region.

Astrakhan Region Governor Igor Babushkin, as of 8:54 a.m. Moscow time, had not reported on the attack's aftermath on his Telegram channel.

As a reminder, on December 15, 2025, 38 drones were shot down in the Astrakhan Region. They attacked "industrial and energy facilities," Igor Babushkin reported on his Telegram channel that day. He called it "one of the most massive attacks by the Ukrainian Armed Forces on the Astrakhan Region."

In December 2025, Kuban authorities introduced fines for filming aerial attacks and air defense operations. The "Caucasian Knot" published a corresponding regional legislative assembly bill.

In other regions of the Southern and North Caucasian Federal Districts, including the Astrakhan Region, filming drone attacks and their aftermath is also prohibited. These prohibitions contradict the Constitution, which guarantees the inadmissibility of censorship and the freedom to search for, record, and disseminate information, lawyers pointed out.

It should be noted that on April 19, three people were injured in an airstrike in Taganrog, where the Beriev Taganrog Aviation Scientific and Technical Complex is located. The grounds of the aircraft factory and park were cordoned off following the airstrike. Telegram users suggested that authorities evacuate the plant outside the city limits for the safety of residents.
