Social media users ridiculed Kadyrov's new award.

Ramzan Kadyrov became the first person to be awarded the medal "For Contribution to the Development of Science in the Chechen Republic." Facebook* and Instagram* users greeted the award with ridicule, considering Kadyrov's scientific achievements exaggerated.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot," on April 6, Ramzan Kadyrov boasted about the new award he received during a meeting with Dzhambulat Umarov, President of the Chechen Academy of Sciences. Umarov presented Kadyrov with a medal "For Contribution to the Development of Science.".

As of 12:55 p.m. Moscow time on April 8, Facebook* and Instagram* users had left a combined total of more than 550 comments under "Caucasian Knot" posts about the Chechen leader's new award.

Most of the comments were mocking, considering the award undeserved. "Is this a new joke?" wrote Lina Sidorenko, among others. "The comedy continues," commented Lyudmila Russkikh.

"How low the human mind has fallen," lamented Kevton Kevton. "And don't they find these awards funny?" asked Yarina Yarina.

A great scientist has emerged

"And what did he contribute to that science? A great scientist has emerged," wrote Alex Garbes. "It seems that when he passes away, science will suffer a very heavy loss," quipped Sergiu Hincu.

"Next in line is the medal 'For Contribution to the Development of Art,' which will be presented by the President of the Academy of Arts," joked Igor Itkin.

"What a shame!" commented Grigori Davidoff. "For his contribution to the development of science... I blush to ask, for the development of which science and what did he contribute?" wrote Katerina Nikolyuk.

"Soon we'll have to carry a cart full of medals behind him, because there won't be room for them anymore," Dmitry Korolev remarked mockingly.

A significant number of commenters also questioned Kadyrov's readiness for scientific pursuits. "I wonder if he's ever read a single book in his life?" – Sofia Lanska, in particular, inquired.

Many other users also inquired about the Chechen leader's level of education, but used harsh and offensive language.

According to a video published on Ramzan Kadyrov's Telegram channel, he became the first person to be awarded this medal.

"Resolution of the Presidium of the Academy of Sciences of the Chechen Republic on awarding you the gold medal "For Contribution to the Development of Science in the Chechen Republic" on behalf of our Academy, number 001," Dzhambulat Umarov says in the video, addressing the head of Chechnya.

On the website of the republican Academy of Sciences, founded in 1992, As of 12:55 p.m. Moscow time on April 8, there is no mention of anyone else receiving this award.

As a reminder, in February, Ramzan Kadyrov became the first recipient of the title Hero of Chechnya. This title is awarded by the head of Chechnya, according to a decree signed by Kadyrov himself. In October 2025, on the occasion of his birthday, Kadyrov was awarded this title for the second time. The decree awarding it was signed by Kadyrov himself.
