Kabardino-Balkaria sent several shipments of humanitarian aid to residents of Dagestan affected by flooding. Four Russian regions and Abkhazia also reported assistance to Dagestanis affected by the disaster.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot," more than 800 socially significant facilities were damaged by flooding in Dagestan, with approximately 1.5 million residents in the emergency zone. Since last week, approximately 150 tons of humanitarian aid have been sent from Kabardino-Balkaria to residents of Dagestan. The humanitarian aid to the affected region included essential items and drinking water, regional head Kazbek Kokov announced today on Telegram.

The head of Kabardino-Balkaria noted that he is in constant contact with the leadership of Dagestan and the regional Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kabardino-Balkaria previously announced a collection for flood victims in Dagestan. An appeal to residents of Kabardino-Balkaria was posted on the republic's Telegram channel late in the evening of April 6.

Reception centers have been set up to promptly collect and send items to the affected areas of Dagestan, including residents of Mamedkala. "Necessary items (new or in perfect condition): warm clothing and bedding (blankets, pillows); non-perishable food products (cereals, canned goods, flour, sugar, vegetable oil, baby food); hygiene products and drinking water (bottled)," the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Karachay-Cherkessia said in a statement.

Aid collection points for residents of Dagestan have opened in Rostov-on-Don. The head of Ingushetia, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, summarized the disaster relief efforts in neighboring Dagestan and ordered the republic to strengthen its preparedness for the flood season.

According to the regional leader, drinking water was sent as a priority at the request of the neighboring republic's leadership; the total volume of deliveries has already reached 400 tons. Ingush rescuers are working in the disaster zone and deploying the necessary equipment, the head of Ingushetia reported on his Telegram channel.

Dagestan is expected to see another deterioration in weather in the coming days. The republic's hydrometeorological service reported that heavy rain, downpours combined with thunderstorms, and winds up to 22-27 meters per second are expected in some areas of the republic on April 8-9. Rivers are forecast to experience "an increase in water levels to unfavorable levels," while mountainous areas are forecast to experience "heavy precipitation in the form of rain turning to snow," as well as mudflows, according to the Telegram channel "Only Facts.
