The case of a former magistrate from Nalchik regarding bribery has reached court.

The criminal investigation against retired magistrate Mukhamed Tembotov in Kabardino-Balkaria has been completed. In this regard, the case with the approved indictment has been sent to court for consideration on the merits.

As "Caucasian Knot" reported, in February in Kabardino-Balkaria, a criminal case was opened against former magistrate Mukhamed Tembotov, who is accused of accepting bribes and acting as an intermediary in bribery.

According to investigators, between November 2024 and May 2025, Tembotov, acting as part of a criminal group he organized with the participation of his court secretary Marianna Karasova and assistant judge Elena Rashidova, repeatedly received bribes ranging from 10,000 to 100,000 rubles from participants in legal proceedings for making decisions on administrative cases under his jurisdiction, RIA Novosti reported today, citing the Investigative Committee Russia.

After receiving a previously demanded bribe of 100,000 rubles in May 2025 from a local resident who filed a complaint with the republic's FSB and was acting as part of an investigative operation, Tembotov and Karasova were detained.

Tembotov is accused of committing several crimes. Specifically, the charges include: bribery by an official, committed by an organized group of individuals by prior conspiracy 1 , and petty bribery, through an intermediary 2 , the law enforcement agency said in a statement.

The investigation believes it has collected sufficient evidence, and therefore the criminal case with the indictment has been sent to court for consideration on the merits. "The judge's accomplices have also been charged, and the criminal cases against them are in the final stages of investigation," the department added.

The "Caucasian Knot" also reported that on February 9, former chair of the Sovetsky District Court of Rostov-on-Don, Elena Kobleva, was found guilty of accepting a large bribe and sentenced to 10 years in a general regime penal colony.
