All these streets and villages receive drinking water from water intakes in the area of ​​the villages of Belaya Rechka and Khasanya.

Khasanya resident Marziyat Khulaeva told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that there was no water for two hours yesterday, and today there has been no water since 11 a.m.

"There were warnings on social media about the water shortage, but I didn't read them and didn't have time to stock up, so I can't even drink tea. I wanted to go to the store for bottled water, but it started raining, and I gave up, thinking I'll manage," said Marziyat Khulaeva. She believes the lack of water is inconvenient, but hopes it won't last long.

She hasn't heard of water being delivered to the village.

Another Khasanya resident, Leila Akayeva reported that there has been no water since 10:00 a.m.

"There was no water yesterday either, fortunately, we knew and stocked up on water. However, I would like these outages to happen as infrequently as possible, because I have children, and the lack of water creates hygiene issues. It's difficult to stock up on enough water to wash three children. "We can still somehow get by for another day, but I really hope this doesn't become a pattern," she told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The tap water is cloudy, even though there hasn't been much rain.

Zukhra Kuchmezova, a resident of the village of Belaya Rechka, also reported a lack of water in the area of ​​the 4th village. Previously, the water had become cloudy in recent days.

"I don't know what it's connected with, but the tap water is cloudy, even though there hasn't been much rain, not heavy, as usual at this time of year. "Therefore, I prefer not to drink raw water," she told a "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

The Nalchik Vodokanal Municipal Unitary Enterprise explained the water outages by work being carried out at the water intake.

"Due to the situation that has arisen at the Golovnoy water intake, as well as reconstruction work and reduced water clarity in the Belaya and Nalchik rivers, water supply to the village of Khasanya has been temporarily suspended..."

Similar reports have been published regarding the villages of Belaya Rechka, Volny Aul, and part of Nalchik, where there will be no water tomorrow.

The municipal unitary enterprise promised to publish a schedule of outages soon.

The water outages are due to deteriorating water quality, due to the fact that the Nalchik Vodokanal's treatment facilities have reached the end of their service life and need to be replaced, but the republic does not have the money for this, the ecologist believes. Alexander Golovko.

"The rain has nothing to do with it. We've always had rain like this, but the water hasn't been shut off because of it. It's just that the water intakes are no longer up to the task; new treatment facilities are needed, and that will require at least 2 billion rubles. The water we drink is safe because it's chlorinated, but you can't call it high-quality," the ecologist said.

Alexander Golovko ruled out a flood on the scale that occurred in Dagestan, because there are no preconditions for it.

"There was a flood in Nalchik once before – in 1962, when there were several days of heavy rainfall and all of Nalchik turned into a sea, but nothing like that has happened since. "Right now, the rains are light, so I'm ruling out flooding. If it's possible anywhere, it's only in Tyrnyauz," the ecologist said.
