A Novorossiysk resident was sentenced to 20 years for treason.

A military court in Rostov-on-Don found Kuban resident Miloslav Oleynik guilty of treason and participating in a terrorist organization.

According to investigators and the court, from April 2022 to December 27, 2024, Oleynik began communicating with members of the Russian Volunteer Corps*, a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation. He was later tasked with retrieving a package containing explosives and a detonator. Oleinik, seeking to provide assistance to Ukraine, arrived at the site where he discovered a package in a truck tire. He identified it as an explosive device and picked it up. He was then detained by FSB officers, Interfax reported today, citing the military court's press service. The court found him guilty of treason and participation in a terrorist organization. Miloslav Oleynik was also found guilty of illegally acquiring, transferring, selling, and storing explosive substances or explosive devices, which carries a prison sentence of eight to twelve years.

The defendant was sentenced to 20 years in a maximum-security penal colony, with the first five years to be served in prison, and a fine of 400,000 rubles.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that in mid-March, the Kuban Deputy Prosecutor approved the indictment against a 38-year-old resident of the Timashevsky District, accused of treason. At the end of February, human rights activists recognized Sergei Samoilov as a political prisoner. In June, the Rostov Regional Court sentenced civilian pilot Samoilov to 12 years in a maximum security penal colony for treason for financing the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
